Age Verification Program
Today more than ever, there is the need for cattle producers to provide thorough information about the age of their herds. To answer this need, the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency (CCIA) has created a national Age Verification program to provide information to domestic and export markets. This program is recognized around the world.
To help Island cattle producers in being included in the CCIA’s system, the PEI Cattle Producers offers a third party Age Verification service. The PEICP will also provide you with verification forms, more information about the Age Verification program, and answers to any questions you have about the program. You’ll find our contact information by clicking HERE.
To verify the age of your herd, complete the verification forms available from the PEI Cattle Producers, and send them along with birth dates and CCIA numbers to the address provided on the forms. There is no cost to the producer for this service.

Verified Beef Production
Verified Beef Production (VBP) is Canada's grass-roots, industry-led program that ensures on-farm food safety for beef producers. The program is based on the principles of an international quality control program called Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), which has been specifically adapted for VBP. The program is a significant benefit to Cattle Producers since it results in stronger competitiveness for the industry, as food safety continues to grow as a major factor for consumers.
